(yes this picture is of me, and yes i am in a giant box) This is back in the good ole DB days and without Katie I would NEVER have worked there! I came in just because she told me to apply, i didn't really want to work there, but they interviewed me on the spot and what do you know I became a somewhat faithful employee of Deseret Book.....lol, okay no i wasn't a faithful employee at all, but surprisingly enough I LOVED working there. I got to spend time with the greatest person ever!!

Katie is the most beautiful person i have ever met! Don't be jealous, just deal with it! Seriously tho, she has the best, funniest, happiest, craziest, goofiest, biggest, HEART!! Yes we officially met at girls camp, and I was quiet.....okay i admit, but i was probably only quiet because i was mad i had to go to girls camp in the first place! Little did i know i would be going to the same highschool as her a year later!

Working at DB together

I never hated highschool, i loved it! Especially all the moments in drama with katie! Just a highlight of the best times:
Katie doesn't wear shoes....ever. She always takes them off in class and one time we could not find her shoes anywhere!! Being the shoeless girl she is, it didn't bother her and she went home without them. Well that night at one of the Plays at school I was up in the light booth i believe and what do i spot at the very front of the stage sitting ever so out of place...the missing shoes!

At seminary...this one's pretty old, Sophmore year i thinkOne time we decided to ditch our last hour, but where did we go? We went underneath the stage in the orchestra pit. There were all these boxes and we set them up around us so we wouldn't be seen. Katie layed down on a dead mouse, and she wanted me to take care of it for her...ew! And then to top it off Mrs. Imel found us down there and we pretended like we were sleeping, so great!

In theatre and NO! katie did not buy this shirt just because she had a crush on the boy from XTORTION!!! :) another day of ditching: you know those areas at the church where they put all the a/c units...well that's where we went to ditch class(hey none of us were old enough to drive yet, and the church was across the street) look Katie isn't wearing any shoes.

After school we went to the vending machines, well Katie felt something hit her head as we were walking, and she turns around to yell at these kids sitting at a table. I laughed SO hard because it was actually a bird that pooped on her!! And then she got really mad at me because i wouldn't get it off!!!

I had SO many good times with this woman during highschool and then after graduation when we worked together! Katie knew that i was crazy about my husband before I did, and while he was gone on his mission she was my rock. I would not have survived without her. Everytime I think of Katie I smile and I can't think of a single thing bad about her. Even when she has cottage cheese palms or grapefruit eye, or hasn't showered all week, she is beautiful!

So moral of the story is that I am sorry if you don't know Katie, but I am a vey lucky person for having found such a great friend. You are the greatest Katums!! Thank you for giving me more than 3 strands of hair in the picture you drew!

THE MOP IS GONE!!!!

i'm a little late as usual in posting, BUT......jared got his locks cut off!!!! I can't even explain to all of you how happy this makes me :) Granted, I loved some of the shaggy days, but enough is enough! I haven't seen my hubby with short hair since our wedding!! That was a year and a half ago people! So anyways, he had his Mom cut it for him while we were all at the cabin, and I got to cut the first chunk off and it felt great!!! Here's some pictures!!

1 semester down....

...i really don't know how many more to go :) Jared is officially done with ALL of his finals and is done with school this semester!!! He is also finished with G.C.C. and will be at ASU main next semester. No more switching schools, ASU is where he will stay and finish. He has had to go to Glendale Community, Paradise Valley Community, Mesa Community, and Phoenix College for various classes, it will be nice to not have to worry about the different places he's at all the time. I seriously always forgot where he is!! I am SOOO proud of all the hardwork he has put into his schooling. He studies very hard, and puts so much time into each class. I know I give him a hard time for getting on the Xbox between study sessions, and I always bug him while he is studying, but he made it through another semester of it all! I love you SO much Jared, and I'm so exited for the next few weeks of NO school!!! good job babay!

It's Raining, It's Pouring, Work is REALLY Boring!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the rain!!! It's incredible and there is nothing like the smell of rain to put me in a good mood. Too bad being at work is offsetting that happy feeling. Seriously, I work at a school, well technically in the District Office, but what school employee works today....me! It wouldn't be so bad if the office wasn't right next to an elementary school, noone is there today, so it makes me feel like I shouldn't be here today either! BUT, i came into work at 6 this morning, and it was so dark and peaceful. No screaming kids, no crabby teachers, no stuffy district peopl to deal with, it was GREAT! I just sat on the playground when i first got in and enjoyed simply watching the rain. It looked so beautiful coming down between all the trees and the basketball court lights just barely illuminated it, like i said...INCREDIBLE!!! Rain is one of my most favorite things in the whole world!!! OH, and I checked the weather for this weekend at the cabin...80% chance of snow tonight and tomorrow, YES!!

*on a side note, did anyone see the sunrise this morning, WOW! I've never seen such beautiful shades of orange!! LOVE this day

time for TWILIGHT

TODAY IS THE DAY!!!! Well, it's at midnight, but today i'm going to go to the theater and see Twilight!! I couldn't be more exited about this right now, and I have that funny feeling that today is one of those, "oh my gosh, how many times am i going to look at the clock" days??!?! I feel like i've been waiting for this movie forever! and it's finally come, WOOHOO! I hope so badly that it is a good as it has the potential to be. I'm not too freaked out about it being perfect aligned with the book, I just want to see a good movie! And i want to see alot of Edward! (is that SO pathetic, c'mon you all are thinking it too!) But seriously, I really like Robert Pattinson - yes i was a big Cedric fan, and I cried my eyes out when he died, so I am thrilled to get to watch him again, especially in this role! I have to admit, No, i'm not the biggest Kristen Stewart fan, but I'm not letting it bug me. Truth be told, I think it's impossible for anyone on this planet to play the characters from this book as perfectly as they are in my mind. The best part about this evening is that my husband is coming along with me! He rolls his eyes at every mention of the word Twilight, but he LOVES me and he's going because I begged him to be there, and we truly do like going everywhere together. I hate being away from him, even my 9 little hours at work, so I'm very glad he's coming tonight. Thanks hubby! I just hope me and my sisters don't kill him with our post Twilight chatter!!!

Weekend at Parks

So out of nowhere we decided to go to the cabin last weekend, and like always, it was GREAT! We left late Friday and had to come back Sunday by 4, for some church meetings, but even that short of a trip was tons of fun. I never want to leave, and i usually drag my butt when it comes to packing up. The weather was so good, and so cold, but I love it cause we got to have a fireplace and actually NEEDed it! Jared brought up his homework and wrote a paper most the day, I brought up the XBOX and played more Fable 2 - still not finished! We only saw one elk, and no it wasn't the cool new elk statue that's up there, it was a real one. On Saturday night, Jared took me on a date date (long story, but i'm sure you can guess) we went to Olive Garden and had some yummy food, and then we went to the Lowell Observatory. It was awesome, i love astronomy and i am so hypnotized by the beauty in Space. I wish i could have taken pictures of what we saw, but you can't, so just go there next time you're in Flagstaff, it's super cool! Sunday we just lounged around, made some good breakfast, and cleaned up. Gary and Janet showed up Sunday morning and Tom and his friend Lance came up just before we left to put up new shingles. I wish we could of stayed longer to help and see the finished product, but i think it's gonna look really nice!! I guess i'll get to see soon, we'll be up there for Thanksgiving and Elk season, and i can't wait!! Here's a few pictures that i took......

Halloween

Well, it's mid November, so naturally I am now posting my Halloween pictures. This year we threw a party at our house and it was lots of fun! I love having family and friends around and i think that's why I love the holidays so much!! I didn't take many pictures of the party, but I know my sister did, so i will have to steal some shots from her. But for now here's one of our costumes......

soooo busy!!!!

Lately us Tiemans have been very busy!!!! I'm actually surprised i've kept up this Blog at all this month! We Just got called to the Bear Den leaders for the Cub Scouts in our ward....lol, man was i clueless when it comes to scouts!!! I figured it would be such an easy calling. I had no clue the amount of work that goes into being a den leader!! It's very time consuming, and Tuesdays are taken up from her on out, but we're both SO happy to be working with the boys. It's a ton of fun and an awesome learning experience for us both!
Next on our list to do...Halloween Party!!! I'm so exited for halloween, it is my favorite time of the year! I love costumes, creepy decorations, pumpkins, and all the cheesy scary movies they play on t.v....it's awesome! I love it so much i thought, 'hey, why not throw a little halloween party, that should be fun!'...little turned into a lot!! I've been prepping things ALL month, and i'm super paranoid that i won't get it all together for Friday, but i'm sure it'll all be fine and it's just me being overly stressed! I also made my costume this year and I made a few of our decorations.
So between work, scouts, and halloween stuff.....wait a minute, what "between", there is NO In between!! hahahaha...anyways, i just wanted to rant about my busy life right now...and hopefully none of you feel like i'm ignoring you lately, or at least now you know why :)

NOVEMBER 21st...what a day!!

Metallica Concert Nov.21st 7:00pm

The day that never comes(or at least felt like it wouldn't) FINALLY CAME!

YES! Jared and I were lucky enough to go the Metallica concert at the Jobing.com arena last night!! It was the opener of the Death Magnetic tour and it was amazing!! This album rocked and they played lots of songs from it! The band ditched their softer side and brought us the great Metallica Metal Music!!! Oh how i missed it! We were 3 rows from the pit and then the stage was 30 feet away or so....our seats kicked butt!! We got to rock out to one of the best bands ever! for 3 blissful hours!!! I may not be able to speak today, and i my ears might still be ringing by the weekend, but it was SO worth it people!!! The crowd was incredibly loud, I think the band could have played pure crap and they still would have screamed all night! James Hetfield was ridiculous...that man had so much energy! If they ever come back, you absolutely have to go, what a night!!!!! My favorite performances were "the end of the line", "master of puppets"(yes they played the whole wonderful song), and "nothing else matters"......I think my hearing was pretty much gone by the 2nd encore but I could still feel the beat from Lars pounding away on those drums, I think I still do, but it may just be a headache :)

been a long time....

sheesh, i have no excuses really, but MAN it's been a while since i've posted here. Life get's really busy I guess, especially with Jared back in school this semester, and my new job is very exhausting!! But, enough of that

- update time -

We've been out here in Surprise for just over 2 months now. We LOVE being in our own house!! It's extremely spacious for us, especially since we came from a 1 bedroom condo. Basically we have tons of room and nothing to fill it up with :) Hopefully we'll get a new bedroom set soon and we can throw our old stuff into one of the rooms for a "guest room" Our front room is still unfurnished as well. For the most part we are done being moved in. We love our new ward out here. It's HUGE, and we haven't met everyone yet, but we've felt very much at home there. It's such a nice change from our last ward. I haven't decided if I want to put up pictures of the house because we've started decrating for our Halloween party, so we'll see, as long as you all don't think i normally decorate my house with skulls and spider webs, i guess i can snap a few pictures tomorrow.

Jared is still at GCC finishing up all the classes he can take there before he has to go to ASU. He is doing really well in all his classes, straight A's so far. He's been doing a great job of juggling his homework with his nightly Call of Duty 4 time(my favorite time of the day......NOT!)

I started a new job with Nadaburg School District as a Clerk for the Maintenance dept. It was supposed to be mostly data entry, but it's turned into a heck of alot more than that!!!! I do all the running around for the district, and i'm in charge of the receiving area......school's get a TON of stuff. Sometimes it's very overwhelming and I come home and collapse at 7pm, but it's not a bad job. I get to carpool everyday with my Mom, so i get to save gas money and chat with my mom everyday...it's a pretty sweet deal, but i'm sure she's sick of me by now :)

That's pretty much it for the Tieman's right now, life is sweet!

......to crazy homeless people, traffic from all the games, my job, all the weirdos in our building, light rail construction, the abnormal happenings of Central Ward (crazy Russian dood that plays "Godfather" prelude music in particular), the communal laundry room, my job, trying to manage all the grocery bags in one trip, extra curricular bum activities, the doorman, did i mention my job? and WHY do i get to say goodbye to all things downtown phoenix????

WE'RE MOVING!!!!!

Yes, that is right folks, Jared and I are moving into a new house in Suprise. We had a lot of good times here in downtown, and there are actually things I will really miss, but I am SO exited to leave some things behind and start a new adventure! We should be moved out there by middle to late July. We have so much stuff to do and buy too, it's gonna be a busy month!! We're going out there this Saturday, and i will take some pictures, to post, so you can all see where we'll be!!!

1. I have what Jared calls a "Process" when i get out of the shower, i can't just grab and towel and get out, I have to ring out my hair and get most of the water off of me first. It's weird, yes i know, but i HATE touching wet towels, even if i just barely got it wet from drying off.
2. If it was possible to not gain a million pounds, I would eat a HOT DOG everyday of my life, they are by far the best food ever!!
3. I daydream ALL the time, like seriously day dreaming. For example: after I read a good book or see a cool movie: I'll make up new story lines in my head, and put myself in as a main character, and then daydream about how it plays out all day. (yes i did it with the twilight series, if you wanna know just how weird i am, ask and give you the details of my character :)

ALMOST!!!

YAY!! Memorial weekend is around the bend and I couldn't be more exited!! We're going up to Northern Az for some hiking, and fishing and of course to hit up my favorite fast food place in Page.... R.D.'s Drive-in......my mouth has been watering for the last month! BUT! the best part is that my oldest sister and her 3 lovely kiddos are finally coming back from Utah! They're even gonna meet us there!! I miss them like crazy and I can't wait to see my babies!!!! Here's to a great, extra long weekend!!

DINOSAURS!!!!

Last weekend we went to the Az Science Center to see the Dino exhibit with two of my nephews Aidan and Gavin, and their dads. It was a super fun little activity, but DON'T go saturday mornings!!! The line to get in took so long, thank goodness that the boys were so patient...I think Jared did most of the complaining :) The dinosaur thing wasn't very impressive, but the kids still loved it, and they had a great time playing with everything else. Sorry I didn't get too many pics, my camera died pretty early one, so this is all you get!
